Cyclamen creticum ‘Silvery Hope’
Developed in the Netherlands by Marco ten Hoope, this cultivar has thick heart-shaped leaves, sometimes lobed or sometimes with dentate teeth on the leaf margins. The leaf surface is very bright silver with occasionally bright silvery speckles; underneath the leaf colour is red.
The flower is white and is perfumed. This cultivar comes true from seed, a low percentage of the seedlings have green silvery leaves. The first year you only see some speckles on the leaf of the seedling; the second year the silvery leaves appear. The first year the tuber is covered with small brown ‘hairs’, but by the next year they have gone.
